Its a good app, better than buying a dedicated drive cam for sure! Ive emailed the developers on a few suggestions, and no response yet. It would be nice to have the option to have both the forward and rear camera record to dispute any allegations of distracted driving, and also to be able to use your music while also using this app would give it a definite 5 stars. Why cant I jam out while using this app? Make it happen, and you get that 5th star. Thanks

Im reviewing this based on "what it is." Its an app that runs on an iPhone. I saved several hundred dollars by purchasing this app over purchasing a dedicated device. It does what its supposed to do and does it beautifully. The VALUE as a useful tool is definitely there. The pros: Excellent, clear HD video with loads of options to record the quality and duration the user wants. I really like the ability to have the time, speed and coordinates stamped on the segment. I also like that the user may choose how many loops to store on hand plus the ability to export the video to be used as evidence or what have you. Now the negatives: Firstly, many of us smartphone users wish to use our phone for a variety of useful tools for the road. I like using mine for the Maps and directions since the app tells me if I should reroute due to traffic or accidents. But right now I cannot exit the dashcam app without the app stopping its recording segment. So if you wish to use this app, you must have it open for it to work as intended. Thumbs down. Secondly, the app only allows recording in wide screen. While wide screen is the best for the wide angle viewing the user should be able to choose. Third, please please PLEASE change the awful "rec" button. That little pulsating red dot is much too difficult to see and I can never tell if I am in fact recording video. Fourth, I would like to grab my phone off of my windshield mount, hit the power button and slide the phone in my pocket knowing this action stops the recording. It doesnt. Make it happen! Im mostly happy. I saved a boatload of cash and have an HD dashcam. Make the above changes and its a perfect tool!

I like this app. However, my iPhone gets very hot after 20 minutes of recording. I wonder if is the phone or the app.

Do not waste your money on this app, it looks old and runs slow. Just dont buy it.

Love the app its convenient for so many things. It also has one flaw, wish the recording button would be a different color when recording cause its difficult to see in the day if its recording or not. Great app and use it all the time.

I had not used the Car Camera app in several months. I opened the app to use it and I got no image. It was like the app was not communicating with the phones camera. I could not find, in settings, a help nor instructions menu. I sent an email and after two days have not heard back from Car Camera.

Its a dashcam for your phone

Its been a great way to document my drive. The app settings allow you to set limits on saved recordings file size, the quantity of recordings saved, and auto deletes the oldest files when you hit your chosen limits. Set it, forget it, enjoy the simple every-drive use.

Can you make my music play in the background or can I answer calls while it is recording?

It does what it says it does. I love this application, its very stable and it records marvelously. I would highly recommend this application to anyone whos looking for a recorder for their vehicle. Download it today.

Does not loop correctly. iPhone runs out of space. Cannot find configuration settings and no tech support. Also cannot find where files are save - looking to download.

The Rec and option buttons dont always seem to active on the touchscreen. Audio also cuts out after 5 seconds of recording. Currently do not recommend anyone purchase this app until the developer fixes these issues.

The ONLY app that has ever caused my otherwise healthy 4S to over heat time and time again. Even with no other apps running. Also, it goes out of focus constantly if you drive in the rain.

I have had no problem with this app, the earlier problems listed have been improved, the is the best app for "black box", your speed is shown on screen as it records so it is perfect for evidence. The only small issue I have is that the gps for speed is a little slow, Ill get to a red light and it will take <5 seconds to return to 0mph, this could be held against you if trying to contest a speeding ticket with this app as evidence. Overall great app

Works very well. However, the speed constantly reads 3-10 km/hr higher then your actual speed. It would also be very handy to have a one-touch button that would automatically save the last 5 min of video.

this app is good and easy to use. but hope the developer can maker it record in background if i using other apps when the recording is On. because right now it only records when you are on this app.

Video recording format is flexible, but app could improve: 1) it is tough to tell when the app is recording, as the red flashing indicator is hard to see except in low light. Maybe change shape to square when stopped or change colour to green when recording? 2) onscreen image is interrupted by phone call. It stops and doesnt restart. 3) havent figured out how to get app to indicate or record speed. 4) all these video recording apps should have some sort of onscreen aiming references such as crosshairs, or horizon indicators, or something to square up the recorded video to vehicle.

Im a pretty big fan of this app. However, I need to address an issue that needs fixing. When I am using this program and switch my radio to Bluetooth iTunes, it freezes my recording and renders the program useless. Other than that this program is great and makes a fantastic and inexpensive alternative to a traditional dashboard camera.
